Text Box: The 2007 Lenten and Easter Season is upon us, beginning on Ash Wednesday, February 21st, and continuing for six weeks until Easter on April 8th. The readings and teachings of the season assist us in remembering the death and celebrating the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
This year’s Lenten devotional, “Singing a Song of Faith: Reflections for Lent,” is intended for both individual and group study. Each week introduces a different section and includes reflections about God the Creator, grace, spirit, scripture, Jesus, church, and hope. If you would like a copy of this resource, please speak to Rev. Lynn Godfrey; the purchase price is $11.00.
The Centenary United Church schedule of services and other events for the Lenten and Easter 2007 season:

Remembering and Celebrating
Text Box: What is it? A program where each family of our church receives a phone call at least twice a year. (We are already calling our seniors monthly.)

Why? We want to deepen the fellowship of the Church and ensure that the people connected with Centenary know that we care and that we have resources to support and encourage them.

Needed: We need…
a team of ‘phoners’ (commitment 1 hr/month)
a second team of ‘pray-ers’ (commitment 15 Text Box: minutes/week) to back up the ‘phoners’ with prayer.
Training? Training will be provided to all volunteers.

When will it begin? We are hoping that the program will begin before summer, depending on how quickly we get volunteers.

If you are interested in any aspect of this ministry, please contact Lynn Godfrey (905-522-6843 ext 34 or lngodfrey@bellnet.ca) or a member of the Pastoral Care Team (Linda Waugh, Janet Zurbrigg, Mary Harkness, Arlene Whatmough) to volunteer or to get more information.
