Text Box: Did you know that the Centenary United Church website is being found all over the world? It's true. We've extended our calling area farther than simply Ontario, Canada or even North America. In fact, it's official over this last month, we have had callers from North America, South America, Africa, Australia, Europe and yep, even Asia.
Our efforts to make ourselves visible in the highly competitive web environment have paid off. To date, since we launched our tracking mechanism last year, we have had just under 10,000 page hits on our main page.

Centenary Thursday Outreach Program

The Thursday Outreach Program continues each Thursday of the year from 10:00 a.m.—2:00 p.m. Between Christmas and New Years we welcomed our friends to help greet and feed our guests from 11:00 a.m.—1:00 p.m.; many received our hospitality gladly.
All aspects of the program are subject to change as the skills and abilities of Volunteers and Staff change. Our meals which have mainly consisted of sandwiches have been more creative with the donations of salads and the cooking skills shared by our main cooks Ray and Paul. Working together with Wesley and the Out Of The Cold programs has provided many benefits in keeping to our budget. Donations of foods are always welcome whether it is for the cupboard (each person gets 2 items of food a week if possible) or the kitchen. Our younger volunteers have been fortunate in gaining full time employment. Some of the others have part time jobs or are seeking employment and are jokingly told that they cannot work on Thursdays!
The youth groups playing their instruments in the benefit concert on Friday, February 9 gave their profits to the Thursday Outreach Program, as did our Centenary Social Activity Group Tuck Shop. In addition, we gained another volunteer at the concert; a Mac Student.

From Cheryl-Anne Ward:

Kudo's to Daniel and all the musicians who came to our first rock benefit concert, "The last will be first." We raised money for the Thursday Outreach program.  All who came out had a really good time.  The bands were excellent.  Some rock, some folk... It was an interesting mix! We'll definitely be having more of these shows.  It's a good place to come and hear good music for a great cause.
