Centenary is an
Affirming
Congregation,
one of approximately 30 such United Church
congregations across Canada.
We are a community of Christians who have chosen
to make a public commitment, in the name of Jesus Christ,
to being a safe and positive
family of faith,
which extends acceptance,
offers
support,
and seeks
divine justice for:
-
The
marginalized
in our society
-
Those with
chronic illness
-
Those with
extraordinary challenges,
be they physical, emotional or mental and
-
Those who are
gay, lesbian, bisexual, or transgender
This does
NOT mean that we are
ONLY a congregation for the GLBT community.
It
means that we are
a
Community of Welcome for anyone
and especially for anyone who has not felt welcome
elsewhere,
whatever the reason.
We
are committed to:

of safety, peace, and healing love.
In Discipleship
we seek to foster spiritual growth,
teach discernment,
and provide training
towards the fulfillment of each person's life mission.
In Service
we seek to do our part in caring for our own
community
and for the world
in the name of Jesus Christ. |
